Replacement Window & Door Specialists

Quality Control

Would you want "just anyone"
doing this to your home?

A great deal more goes into installing windows and doors PROPERLY in your home than ever meets the eye!

Step ONE - Prep & DOUBLE CHECK!

There's an old adage... "Measure twice and cut once". It's the same level of care that flows through everything we do. Prior to the removal of the existing window, our expert installers double check the sizes to ensure there's no possibility of removing a window only to find there's an issue with the replacement frame, or that would prevent us from closing the opening on the same day.

Step TWO - Removal

After our installers have double-checked the window/door sizes and have confirmed that all materials have arrived on site, only then will they start the removal of the existing frames. Prior to the commencement of the removal process, they:

1. Carry out a risk assessment as required, complying with Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

2. Establish a safe perimeter around the demolition area.

3. Remove window furnishings. (We recommend that the homeowner remove existing window furnishings.)

4. Clear the immediate work area. (We are happy to assist in moving furniture, but request that you relocate your smaller fragile items.)

5. Cover the floor in the immediate work area with a drop sheet. (We recommend that you cover everything as the removal and particularly the installation of the new frames WILL create a lot of dust.)

Of course all necessary safety equipment is used to protect you, your family and our installers. Where safety is involved , like everything else we do at Windowline...

Step THREE - On Site Machining

Once the window has been removed all necessary timber trims will be prepared for attachment to the window.

This messy work is done outside to minimise the disruption inside your home and is carried out in a safe work area.

Step FOUR - On Site Assembly

After all the necessary timber trims have been machined to suit the installation, the timber is attached to the window.

Like most of the preparation process this work is done outside to reduce the amount of work and therefore possible mess inside your home. And of course all work is carried out to our customers' exacting standards!

Step FIVE - Frame Installation

After all necessary trim has been attached to the window, the frame is lifted into place complete with internal linings. The frame is then fixed in place using appropriate fixings.

Once the window has been secured, the screens are fitted. If requested the window furnishings would also be refitted at this time. (In the majority of case, the windows can be replaced WITHOUT any disruption to tiling.)

Step SIX - External Trimming

Once the frame has been fitted and the inside detailing is complete, it's time to finish the external trimming.

At Windowline we use only the very best quality sealants including Silicone and Sikaflex to seal the frames back to the existing structure. (Weatherboard example shown here.)

Step SEVEN - Final Clean- up

After the installation of each window is complete our installers will remove the drop sheets and remove any debris. Whilst we carry out a comprehensive cleanup of the work area, the room will still need a good dust afterwards.

You see, you couldn't trust
"just anyone" to do this
